25 nov.: dinsdagmiddag lunch

🌱 Op dinsdag 25 november om 13 uur is er weer een warme lunch bij Voedsellokaal De Gymzaal. 🌱

Voorlopig is dit de laatste lunch verzorgd door Tanja! Graag zouden we willen doorgaan met de lunch op dinsdag in De Gymzaal. Mocht je het leuk vinden om een keer te helpen met het verzorgen van de lunch. Geef dit dan aan op het formulier.

De lunch is op donatiebasis. Richtprijs 5 euro. Er zijn slechts een beperkt aantal plekken, dus meld je snel aan via het aanmeldformulier.

Zit je nog op Windows 10? Dat is onveilig, en steeds onveiliger omdat Microsoft geen beveiligingsupdates meer uitgeeft. Geef je computer een nieuw, veilig leven met Linux Mint! Hervind je vrijheid, word baas over je eigen computer! Weg met de advertenties, weg met de ongevraagde apps, en weg de Big Tech miljardairs die over je schouder mee kijken en bepalen wat je wel en niet kunt doen.

Leer in deze workshop je eerste stappen om jouw computer weer voor jou te laten werken! Het is makkelijker dan je denkt. En je staat er niet alleen voor! Dus schijf je in, en kom langs! (Met Windows 11 ben je ook welkom)

In deze workshop word je op weg geholpen door twee ervaren Linux-gebruikers. Bij voldoende interesse volgen meer workshops, bijvoorbeeld over (het installeren en gebruiken) van alternatieven voor Big Tech software en apps.

Neem je computer of laptop, de bijbehorende adapter met snoer en eventueel ook je (USB) backupschijf mee.

Met het installeren blijft de data niet behouden. Zorg dus dat alles wat je wilt bewaren veilig op een andere plek staat opgeslagen (externe harde schijf, USB stick of andere computer). Denk bv. aan bestanden, downloads, bookmarks en browserinstellingen.
Als je hulp nodig hebt bij het backuppen, neem dan een externe harde schijf mee naar de workshop

Regain your freedom, become the boss of your own computer! Get rid of the ads, get rid of the unsolicited apps, and get rid of the Big Tech billionaires who look over your shoulder and decide what you can and cannot do.

In this workshop, learn the first steps to make your computer work for you again! It’s easier than you think. And you’re not alone! So sign up and come on by! (You’re also welcome with Windows 11)

In this workshop, two experienced Linux users will help you get started. If there is sufficient interest, more workshops will follow, for example on (installing and using) alternatives to Big Tech software and apps.

Bring your computer or laptop, the corresponding adapter with cord, and possibly also your (USB) backup drive.

The data will not be retained during installation. So make sure that everything you want to keep is safely stored elsewhere (external hard drive, USB stick, or another computer). This includes files, downloads, bookmarks, and browser settings. If you need help with backing up, bring an external hard drive to the workshop.

28 nov.: Ons Eten documentaire ´Feeding Tomorrow´

Op vrijdag 28 november 2025 vertoont de vereniging Ons Eten van 18:30 tot 21:00 uur de documentaire ´Feeding Tomorrow´ in Voedsellokaal De Gymzaal.

(English below) De hoopvolle documentaire Feeding Tomorrow volgt pioniers die aan een veerkrachtiger systeem werken met lokale, gezonde, agro-ecologische voeding. Ideaal voor wie op een laagdrempelige manier kennis wil maken met de uitdagingen én kansen van het landbouwsysteem van de toekomst.

Voorafgaand aan de film kun je mee-eten. En na de film is er een nagesprek over het verhaal achter de film. De filmvertoning met nagesprek is gratis. Voor de maaltijd vraagt Ons Eten een kleine bijdrage.

Hier kun je je aanmelden (werkt die link niet, vul dan deze link in)

Laat even weten of je alleen voor de film komt of dat je ook mee wilt eten (of misschien zelfs wilt meekoken). Iemand meenemen kan natuurlijk ook.

28 Nov.: Ons Eten documentary ´Feeding Tomorrow´

On Friday 28 November 2025 (from 18:30 till 21:00 uur) the association Ons Eten presents the documentary ´Feeding Tomorrow´ in Voedsellokaal De Gymzaal.

The hopeful documentary Feeding Tomorrow follows pioneers who are working on a more resilient system with local, healthy, agro-ecological food. Ideal for those who want to learn about the challenges and opportunities of the agricultural system of the future in an accessible way.

You can join us for dinner before the film. And after the film, there will be a discussion about the story behind the film. The film screening and discussion are free of charge. Ons Eten asks for a small contribution for the meal.

(English below) Het eten is veganistisch en de groentes komen van lokale biologisch werkende boeren. Met dank aan Lekker Nassûh.
Het eten is op donatie-basis. Voor degenen die kunnen bijdragen, is de richtlijn rond de €5. Een online optie is er niet, dus vergeet geen contant geld mee te nemen. Soms is er eten over en we vinden het heel fijn als je dit mee naar huis neemt. Neem daarom een bakje mee, zodat we niets weg hoeven te gooien.

The food is vegan, with vegetables from local organic farms, thanks to Lekker Nassûh.
The food is on donation basis. For those who can contribute, aim for around €5. There’s no option to donate online, so don’t forget to bring cash. It is recommended to bring a box to take any leftovers home, so that nothing goes to waste.

Je leert verse veganistische pastavormen maken en we laten je zien hoe je ze op smaak brengt met lokale Nederlandse ingrediënten, terwijl de recepten authentiek Italiaans blijven. Kom koken, leren en proeven met ons. Ontdek hoe kleine stappen in de keuken een groot verschil kunnen maken.

(English below) De Verpakkingsvrije Winkel doet mee aan de Haagse Klimaatweek 2025.
Met Lekkernassûh streven we ernaar zo weinig mogelijk ‘afval’ te produceren. In onze Verpakkingsvrije Winkel in de Gymzaal hebben we een ruime keuze aan droge voedingsmiddelen zoals noten, gedroogd fruit, haver, muesli, plus verschillende oliën en azijnen. Kom langs met je eigen bakjes, potjes en zakjes en vul ze met onze mooie producten.

The Package Free Store participates in this year´s The Hague Climate Week.
At Lekkernassûh, we strive to produce as little waste as possible. In our packaging-free store in the Gymzaal, we offer a wide selection of dry foods such as nuts, dried fruit, oats, muesli, plus various oils and vinegars. Bring your own containers, jars, and bags and fill them with our wonderful products.

VoedselAnders: ¨The Last Seed toont de indrukwekkende strijd van Afrikaanse boeren voor het behoud van hun voedselsoevereiniteit en lokale biodiversiteit. De documentaire laat zien hoe de industrialisering van landbouw en de privatisering van zaden traditionele kennis, ecologisch evenwicht en de autonomie van boeren bedreigen. Afrikaanse boeren en experts gaan in het verweer en zetten voluit in op agro-ecologische praktijken om de toekomst van hun (en ons) voedsel te garanderen. Want wie de zaden controleert, bepaalt hoe er aan landbouw gedaan kan worden.¨

African farmers and experts are fighting back and are fully committed to agroecological practices to guarantee the future of their (and our) food. Because whoever controls the seeds determines how agriculture can be practiced.¨

(English below) Op donderdagavond 13 november van 19 tot 21 uur is er in De Gymzaal een speciale samenleessessie, getiteld Klimaatpraat. Het wordt georganiseerd door het Humanistisch Verbond.
Op een open, niet be-/veroordelende manier in gesprek. Neem vooral iemand mee!

Deze sessie is onderdeel van een serie van zes die Humanistisch Verbond Haaglanden organiseert samen met de ‘Culturele apotheek’. De sessies zetten aan tot open discussie over onderwerpen waar mensen sterk over van mening verschillen.

On Thursday evening, November 13, from 7 to 9 p.m., there will be a special reading session in De Gymzaal, entitled Klimaatpraat (Climate Talk). It is organized by the Humanist Association.
An open, non-judgmental discussion. Feel free to bring someone along!

Wij willen mensen in ons land raken, bewustmaken en mobiliseren vanwege onze zorgen om de aarde. Wil je daar een keer bij zijn? Kom dan langs.

During The Hague Climate Week, rehearsals for the Netherlands Climate Choir will be held at Voedsellokaal de Gymzaal. This is a network of climate choirs, conductors, and singers. We want to touch people in our country, raise awareness, and mobilize them because of our concerns for the earth. Would you like to join us? Then come along.
